Ports

Key to supporting the wind industry is the proximity to ports that have been well-developed such that they can supply the wind industry with the services it requires and then the ease of access to site for offshore wind farms.

The North of England is home to 16 ports with sufficient capabilities in servicing the offshore wind industry. Several UK ports have been selected as having the potential necessary for Round 3 development and beyond:

  • Port of Blyth
  • Port of Barrow
  • Tyneside
  • Port of Hartlepool
  • Humber
  • Port of Heysham
  • Port of Liverpool
